It would be nice to have sort of 'How to Start' page where all the necessary information for new-bees can be found. User-friendliness should be compatible when you are trying to make it less confusing.

I think that links Courses, Library, Vocabulary, Write, Speak, Profile, Friends, and Forum will be more easily accessible if they are placed together on the toolbar where now only Courses and Community links are available.
